Interactive Bauhaus
I have always been fascinated by the aesthetics of the Bauhaus. Yet, much of its visual language exists in static form, disconnected from the possibilities of interaction and movement.
With Interactive Bauhaus, I set out to reimagine these aesthetics through animation and interactivity. The project explores how Bauhaus principles can be translated into dynamic sketches that invite play and experimentation. I created a YouTube playlist to collect these sketches.
One iteration of the project was presented at the DogTime exhibition SiSiSpex 2024.
Beyond being an artwork, Interactive Bauhaus also functions as a teaching tool for creative coding. By using the minimalistic Bauhaus principles as a framework, participants can concentrate on composition, rhythm, and creative exploration rather than getting lost in technical complexity.
I have used this approach to lead workshops at Creative Coding Utrecht, the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA), and the Utrecht University of Applied Sciences (HU).
On the technical side, in this sketches, I am using TouchDesigner and exploring how to make the processing only in the GPU (TOPs)
