What does a camera really see?
Color Horizonts
Cameras are omnipresent devices in our daily lives. What they see and transmit literally shapes our perception of the world. However, all those images are remediation of the raw data into images that humans can interpret.
In this work, I want to go back to the basics of computer vision RGB to let us see the world that cameras really see.
The visualisation is inspired by Marteen Rozendal’s “81 Horizonts.” I added an interactive component to make the horizontal dependent on the user.
This work uses everyday webcams. In this first prototype, the processing and visualisation are done in TouchDesigner using only TOPs.
In future prototype i may move to other technologies to make a more immersive experience.
